We have been discussing different ways people go about choosing what products to buy, and there are many potential sources of information and advice for consumers. In your opinion, which is the better strategy for making purchasing decisions, relying on advice from friends and family, or depending on information from online sources? Why?

Asking friends and family members for product recommendations might seem like an easier option, but it might take too much time to get all the information you need. An internet search would be much more efficient. There are many consumer magazines available online that compile lots of data to compare the advantages and disadvantages of one product versus another.

The last time I bought a computer, I just watched a few videos online to make a decision, and now I regret that. My friends could have advised me better because they know my preferences and the kind of features that I am interested in. Consumers should get advice from the people around them to find the most suitable products.

题目其实和以往的独立写作话题变化不大，基本可以说就是以往考题重新编写成新版的。也就是说，在新版作文题目较少的情况下，同学们还是可以多看之前的考题分析，获取思路和语料，为新版做准备。

回到今天考题，这个题目不难，但也要注意其他两位同学给出的方向，写的时候尽量避免跟他们完全一致，否则在扣题上可能会被扣分。

另外，注意现在的新版写作其实可以不止写自己的己方观点和支持，也可以去对其他两位同学进行支持或者反驳（只要和他们的细节不一样即可），这样也可以节约一部分思考展开的时间。

In my opinion, friends’ recommendations usually serve me better.

Claire makes a valid point about the convenience of searching for information on the Internet, as it offers comprehensive results. However, she did not mention that the internet is also filled with false information, advertisements, and malicious comments from competitors. This overload of information can be overwhelming and hinder the decision-making process.

Instead, I suggest relying on the judgments of friends to save time and ensure a better decision. Our friends usually understand our preferences as Paul suggests, and, most importantly, they are honest with us. For instance, when I was considering buying a coffee machine, I sought the advice of my friend Alex. She recommended the Staresso, praising its oil-rich coffee flavor, affordability, and suitability for beginners--all qualities that align perfectly with what I was looking for. I hadn't even searched for it online before, but based on her trustworthy suggestion, I made the purchase, and I have never looked back since.
